Agro Biotech process for the degradation of antibiotic drugs in manure and analytical methodology (ABIOTEC I)
Residues of antibiotic substances in organic fertilizers are very complex in measuring. The Operational Group therefore got to work on a reliable analytical method to detect antibiotic compounds including their degradation products (metabolites and transformation products) in the different matrices (slurry, fermentation residues, liquid and solid manure manure). Additional measures for the treatment of the excrements were identified and economically assessed to reduce the antibiotic substances before applying as fertilizer. The project contributes to the protection of ground water and soil. An extended balancing of the degradation (input and output measurements) is planned for the subsequent project.
The first step of a cpmprehensive screening analysis for the detection of antibiotic substances and their metabolites in manure was established as an important basis for the ongoing developments (ABIOTEC II) with the aim of a draft standard. A total of 38 different substances from different classes of active ingredients were examined and the analytical procedure (LC-MS method) was gradually adapted and optimized. The extraction method offered a robust option for sample preparation of the complex fertilizer matrices. At the same time, a microbiological test routine was developed. With regard to the identified approaches for agrobiotechnological treatments of manure, which significantly reduce the concentrations of antibiotically active substances, in particular the process of combing straw and manurist is to emphasize. The further development as well as practical testing and application of the processes for aerobic degradation of various substances is part of the following procj
