Development of a chopping method to control weeds in agricultural crops as a powerful alternative to the herbicide
With mechanical weed control, chopping technology is experiencing a renaissance that has been pushed into the background in recent decades due to the effectiveness and low-cost availability of herbicides.
However, many of the traditional methods of mechanical control lack the clout and precision needed in efficient and productive agriculture.
An intelligent combination of traditional mechanics and new precision farming techniques could overcome this limitation:
Networked GPS technologies know exactly where seeds have been placed and can exclude the position of the resulting plants from cultivation. Intelligent cameras are capable of distinguishing useful plants from weeds and inform the mechanical control system where hacking is required. For its part, the mechanics are adapted to the increased demands for precision and new plant cultivation findings. The pre-development of such a hoeing system should be considered.
