5. Deveolpment and optimisation of the technology of cleaning, drying , peeling and processing
6. Scientific monitoring and analysis of the processing, espec. in regards to added health benefits
7. Transmission of the results into the practise, amongst others establishment of an offer of regional organic hemp oil and protein for organic market
A regional hemp oil must have an added value in comparison to imported oil. Therfore the original idea of producing mixed oils to standardize qualities was rejected. In interviews with industry representatives, the opinion was that different flavors of hemp oil are tolerated and honored by customers. The difference between the oils depending on the pressing process was surprising, which suggests that processing plays an important role in quality. The subject of the influence of peeling on the oil quality was therefore discussed intensively in the second year of the project, and the advantages and disadvantages were discussed. However, further peeling and pressing tests including analysis are necessary in order to be able to make valid statements about the effect of the peel on the shelf life, color, taste and ingredients of the hemp oil, but also on the practicability of the pressing process.
