Project Title

ODPO: Online Diagnostic of Plant Status for the Optimization of Growing Conditions

Project description

In order to achieve optimum revenue and quality in horticulture and commercial agriculture, while at the same time gaining conservation of resources, modern plant cultivation must regulate and control growth and development factors as precisely as possible.

Measurement techniques as employed today generally comprise enviroment data (e.g. temperature, humidity) that only supply indirect statements about the plants` needs. In contrast to this, the sensor system implemented in this project gathers electronic signals occuring on the plant surface as reaction to envorimental stimuli.

In the course of this project, the impact of abiotic and biotic enviromental stress factors on plant growth and electrical signal patterns are to be visualized my means of new measurements techniques. Recommendations for actions baed on the measurement results are wirelessly transferred to the user.

Thus, the base for more effective coordination of plant protection in horticulture and commercial agriculture, the further reduction of pesticides, the optimization of watering measurements and the extension of revenue and plant protection, outddor as well as in greenhouse, is to
