Exkursion am 27. und 28. November 2019 in den Regionen Burgund und Grand-Est (Frankreich)
Ein Blick über die Ländergrenzen hinaus: Etwa 35 Wissenschaftler und Landwirte aus Deutschland, Belgien und Luxemburg reisten nach Frankreich in die Regionen Burgund und Grand-Est. Zusammen mit der "French national Unit for EIP" hatte die DVS Ende 2019 zu einem Transferbesuch nach Frankreich eingeladen.
European Hub of Hemp
Die Produktion von Baumwolle sehen zunehmend mehr Menschen kritisch, weil sie große Mengen an Ressourcen verbraucht. Außerdem kann die Pflanze in Europa nicht angebaut werden – andere Faserpflanzen aber sehr wohl. Daher haben sich die Teilnehmer bei der Genossenschaft zur Herstellung und Verarbeitung von Hanf angeschaut, wie die Faserproduktion aus Hanf funktionieren kann. Die produzierten Hanffasern lassen sich vielseitig einsetzen: als Papier- und Textilfasern oder auch als Biomasseenergie.
Sustainability and developement of the blackcurrant sector in Burgundy
Am zweiten Tag besuchte die Gruppe ein EIP-Projekt, welches sich mit der nachhaltigen Produktion von schwarzen Johannisbeeren in Burgund beschäftigt. Eine große Herausforderung besteht darin, die Erträge der Sorte Noir de Bourgogne zu stabilisieren. Im ersten Teil des Projekts soll für die Zukunft die Nischenproduktion der Knospen schwarzer Johannisbeeren in Burgund gesichert werden. Die Düfte der Knospe können beispielsweise zur Herstellung von Parfum verwendet werden. Im zweiten Teil des Projekts geht es um die Beeren, aus denen die "Crème de Cassis" hergestellt wird. Agrarökologische und hygienische Schutzmaßnahmen sollen auch hier dazu beitragen, die Erträge schnell zu stabilisieren.

A look beyond national borders: Around 35 scientists and farmers from Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg traveled to France in the Burgundy and Grand-Est regions. DVS and the "French national Unit for EIP" invited to a transfer visit to France at the end of 2019.
European Hub of Hemp
The production of cotton is viewed with increasing criticality because it uses large amounts of resources. In addition, the plant cannot be grown in Europe – but other fiber plants can. Therefore, the participants looked at the cooperative for the production and processing of hemp how fiber production from hemp can work. The hemp fibers produced can be used in a variety of ways: as paper and textile fibers or as biomass energy.
Sustainability and developement of the blackcurrant sector in Burgundy
On the second day, the group visited an EIP project that deals with the sustainable production of black currants in Burgundy. A big challenge is to stabilize the yields of the Noir de Bourgogne variety. In the first part of the project, the niche production of blackcurrant buds in Burgundy is to be secured for the future. The fragrances of the bud can be used to make perfume, for example. The second part of the project is about the berries from which the "Crème de Cassis" is made. Agri-ecological and hygienic protective measures should also help to stabilize the yields quickly.
