Project Title

Microalgae as feedstuff additive in pig fattening

Project description

In order to assess the nutritional and health benefits of microalgae, these are fed to selected groups of individuals during pig fattening. For this purpose, the microalgae are cultivated on-farm within a closed photobioreactor system and applied to the feedstuff in concentrations of up to 3 % (dry mass). The project aims to investigate the promotional effects of microalgae on health and efficiency parameters. Another target is to assess the eventual approval of microalgae as feedstuff additive.
