Transfer of agrobiotechnological process approaches for the degradation of antibiotic substances in farm manure, further development of analytics (ABI
ABIOTEC II builds on ABIOTEC I (development of an analytical method for the detection of antibiotic substances and their degradation products in farm manure) to further develop and validate the analytical methodology for the determination of antibiotic substances, in particular their degradation products in farm manure. The focus of the investigations is on the active substance groups β-lactams (readily degradable) and fluoroquinolones (poorly degradable). Reliable degradation balancing of antibiotic substances through input and output measurements, including the most important metabolites, is to be carried out with the further developed analytics. The continuation of the ecologically oriented project is intended to serve the development of innovative "low tech" and "low cost" process approaches for the degradation of antibiotics in farm manure in the sense of their transfer to industrial pilot scale, and to provide adequate reproducible and safe analytics.

For the first time, an LC-MS method will be available, which allows reproducible measurements of metabolites or transformation products of antibiotic substances in the complex sample matrices 'organic fertilizer'. The results enable the further development of a first draft standard from ABIOTEC (I). The optimized procedural and practical approaches for the degradation of antibiotics in farmyard manure are being prepared for use in small and semi-industrial scale agricultural enterprises. This is intended to make a solution that can be used on farms for the degradation of antibiotically active substances ready for practical use. At the same time, a practicable test routine for hygienisation and resistance training is developed. The following procedural approaches are in focus: straw management, rotting process / composting, aerobic digestate treatment, soil treatment, lactic acid fermentation.
