ANAPLANT - Updating of target values for plant analysis to determine the nutritional status of crops under the conditions in Saxony-Anhalt
In 2020, the European Commission called for reducing nutrient losses and fertilizer use in the Farm-to-Fork Strategy. Stand-optimized fertilization improves soil and water management as well as resource efficiency. Crop analysis is used to monitor the nutritional status of a crop stand during the growing season and thus to more precisely determine nutrient requirements. Where deficiencies are found, they can be specifically corrected, for example by foliar fertilization. Balanced nourished plants are less susceptible to disease, more resistant to weather extremes and enable higher crop yields. In the ANAPLANT project, the previously used target values for plant analysis are being updated and expanded for organic farming. The project, which is limited to Saxony-Anhalt, aims to optimize nutrient management under changing meteorological conditions. It thus takes on a pioneering role vis-à-vis other German states.
