Project Title

MC Umwelt- und Bodenmanagement - Etablierung eines integrativen Beratungs- und Managementssystems

Project description

Agricultural production inevitably produces air pollutants and gases that are harmful to the climate. As a signatory to international climate protection agreements, it is the declared goal of the Federal Republic of Germany to reduce the emission of climate-damaging gases and air pollutants. The innovation project aims to contribute to the reduction of pollutant emissions from agriculture by combining the innovative processes of microbial carbonisation, carbon-storing soil management and biochemical manure/biogas slurry treatment in an integrated management system.

Final report

Results and the Final report will be found here, as soon as the project is completed.

Results focusing on practiceorientation

Objectives and planned innovation

- Development of an advisory and management system for permanent carbon storage in the soil

- Recovery of nutrients and improvement of the storage capacity of arable soils

- Validation of MC composting under anaerobic conditions to bind so-called "permanent humus" from biogenic residues with negative emissions

- Biotechnological treatment of digestate for improved carbon and nutrient sequestration

- Carbon sequestration soil management to reduce soil oxygen content and improve nutrient retention
