Project Title

E-HERB-RLP - Implementation of the Electroherb-procedure into the Rlp. agriculture for the environmental improvement of cultivation methods

Project description

The aim is to reduce herbicide use in agriculture. This project “E-HERB-RLP” investigate the use of Electroherb-procedure in agriculture, potato-, wine cultivation and orcharding, to obtain an alternative, practically and environmental-friendly way for weed control in the Rhineland-Palatinate agriculture. Main focuses of the study are the induction of shell strength in early potato cultivation; keep tree rows free of vegetation and managing weed control without Glyphosat, always in consideration of the effects on soil life.

Weed control with electricity is a promising technology to respond to the increasing demands on agriculture. Plants, getting in contact with the high frequent electricity are dying without any use of herbicides or tillage. The Electroherb-procedure can be used in nearly every crop. The aim of the study is to investigate the efficiency of the Electroherb-procedure in different applications and to develop promising areas of use for the introduction in agricultural practice.
