Project Title

Development and testing of a conserving soil cultivation in ecological market gardening (BioStripPlant)

Project description

The increasing demand of vegetables grown in ecological cultivation, challenges producers in Brandenburg. The effetcs of climate change such as droughts, lead to the need of high amounts of water and nutrition. The soil is therefore under extreme pressure. The project aims to transfer the Strip-Till and Strip-Plant methods that are already sucessfully used in agriculture to the the field of market gardening. The method is supposed to reduce weeds and increase soil moisture, while the outcome should increase as well. So the project will contribute to climate protection while having a large economical impact at the same time.
